Blogging from e-mail

Graham Doel has made a nice trick of combining the ability of wp-mail.php to deal with HTML e-mail posts and to deal with e-mailing of photos that automatically places a re-sized version of the photo in the blog. However, for some reason, I have some problems with it, and hope that Graham may be reading this, since I can’t find his e-mail address and his own blog wouldn’t allow me to add a comment. A screenshot of what the problems look like can be found here.

Problems:

  • There is blank space between the heading and first line of the contents of the post
  • There is blank space between the last line of the post and the uploaded photo
  • Photos are always placed last in the content area, regardless of where they are in the e-mail
  • Where the photo should be, according to the e-mail, there are a series of ”tick-marks” instead. I think this will be filled with the ”alternate text” of the picture if one exist.
  • I sure hope that Graham can fix this, since this actually would make blogging by e-mail so much easier than using the web-interface! 🙂
